Has anyone heard about Hoot owls hooting being a bad omen, or something?

The followers of Kali believe the cry of an owl to be a blessing. I think maybe Kali was a bit threatening for a female deity, which is why others thought it was a bad omen. I would accept it as a positive thing and that you've received her blessings, and it's good to know that someone out there is taking care of the lesser creatures and keeping their population down.
