39 weeks pregnant, am I having contractions?? HELP!!?

No matter what I do, standing, walking, lying, rocking... I am getting these sharp pains in my stomach. It feels like food poisoning all over again. I've had braxton hicks since 25 weeks and these are NOT them! 2 weeks ago when I went to the e.r. they told me I was having small but frequent contractions already. The pain is mostly in my upper abdomen making it hard for me to breathe. But then I feel her move in my lower abdomen. I feel like I am going to be sick everywhere!! The pain doesn't really subside it intensifies every few minutes but it never really goes away. I have no idea when to start timing them but it hurts and it doesn't feel like anything I've had before. Doesn't feel like BH contractions and doesn't feel like the baby is pushing up into my ribs. It just plainly HURTS! Anyone know what is going on? Do you think these are contractions and should I phone my doctor or what????
