What is the force exerted on the upper block by the lower string?

Imagine if you're hanging from a rope trying to not let go and fall. Then imagine someone tying a 2kg block of wood to your leg while you're hanging, it would pull you down. That would be 20N exerted downward on your body.

Christians: Can you please explain why God is not a God of mercy in the Old Testament?

the intelligence level in those days wasn't very high, so they had to use scare tactics to get the message across

Am I a Christian or not?

I'd like to think of myself as a free thinker & philosopher. I love logic and science, but when it comes to "god" and the bible I just don't agree with it. I don't believe in the bible, nor 99.9% of whats in it I do find some of what is said in the bible to be inspirational, and motivating, but everything else is just buffoonery in my opinion. I believe there is no such thing as Adam & Eve I believe in evolution, that we as humans evolved over time as well as many other wonderful species. God himself did not write the bible so why do people say its the "word of god"? HOWEVER I still find myself talking to A god I do refer to this god as Jesus, or just god alone, but I dont really envision a man in the clouds more so the air I breathe, the sun, the gr, just natures beings...for a while its bothered me because Im confused on where I stand with this. I don't have hate nor talk down upon anybodies religion as I feel you are to believe in what you want to, I love people for people and not for what or who they believe in. Can you give me some insight to help me clarify my mind - Thanks!

I can recall the horrific images of pretty housewives.....reaching in the dishwasher....?

and pulling out their freshly washed stemware, holding it up to the light, and with a furrowed brow, and pain in their voice saying....."but I just washed these !"......................have we overcame spotty dishes in this world, if not what to do about it ?

A question on horse leasing and return?

It sounds as if you took better care than the barn did. I would point out in a registered letter so you have proof you sent it that instead of the expense of suing you (which I agree with the previous post, she mostly likely wont) the owner would be better off putting that time and energy into getting this horse sound and better trained. If you only had a verbal contract and you have proof of all you did to care for the horse what is she suing for ? The stress of a move could have affected his diet. Good luck -

Do black athletes have superior genetics?

I've read some things saying blacks genetically have more fast twitch muscles and whites have more slow twitch muscles. The NFL, NBA and sprinters in track and field are dominated by black athletes. Does this mean that, in a sense, superior athletes are born, not made (well you obviously have to train and work hard but you get the point). How true is this?

Deangelo Williams is listed as Questionable and I am wondering who I should play if he is unable to go.?

benson or stewart. stewart is pretty good but benson is playing detroit. cincy is #2 against da p, so i wouldnt start cj, specially w/staford's shoulder hurting, but espn sayss hes been practicing da 2 days, so he might b ok, but if he gets hit hard enough, he might b done 4 awhile. sims-walker is always a good start, but benson really does look like a good start 2, so my final decision = benson against detroit.

Is my makeup good for my age?

That sounds good to me! Kudos for wearing sunscreen. I probably wore the same amount of makeup when I was 14. Now, in college, I have a pretty intense makeup routine. I love experimenting with different products, so yes. I love wearing a lot of makeup.

What is up with those ugly librarian gles women are wearing these days?

Every male acquaintance and friend I have spoken to have agreed that these librarian gles are ridiculous and are detrimental to anyones looks. Not one male I have spoken to find these to be attractive so why wear them unless you are a librarian or are reading a book.

Best family car under 4 lac?

Within your budget you can't expect much more, if you want a bigger car within your budget opt any second hand model. Overally Wagon R is a good allrounder according the price. Otherwise you have to strech your budget to get more. Check the Ritz Diesel if you can, it is also one of the best hatch and reasonably priced, spacious than Wagon R and good driving comfort.

Coincidence? No. New religions have a habit of taking aspects of the older religions, combining a few things, and just changing the names.

TORNADO!! HELP! PLZ!?

Tornadoes don't really "suck" anything up. Things are picked up in the rotating winds around it. If it is a designated shelter, then it has most likely met the local and state requirements as such. It would be much safer than trying to ride the tornado out, otherwise, unless you were located in a basement.

Kinda off-topic, but...?
